Wilcom’s Embroidery Web API used in Sheer Custom’s eCommerce app

Sheer Custom's eCommerce App

Sheer Custom has recently released an updated version of their app for eCommerce, which now includes logo digitization. The new feature is ideal for B2B/ workwear apparel decorators and allows customers to upload and preview a digitized logo with or without team names.

Sheer Custom uses Wilcom’s online embroidery engine and Auto-digitizing features to create a personalized customer experience via specific API calls. It combines the new logo digitization feature with the existing template features.

The logo digitization functionality is available through any Sheer Custom plan and can be combined with the existing templates feature to offer customers a broad range of personalization options. Simply upload the design to be digitized. We suggest using SVG, EPS files, or high-quality JPEGs or PNGs for best results.

Digitized logo previews are sent to both the store admin and the customer for review or approval. Depending on the complexity of the design, the EMB files generated during the ordering process can be downloaded directly by the store manager for production.

The updated customizer UI also gives the customer the ability to enlarge the preview of the digitized file for better viewing on mobile devices, as well as removal of any unnecessary background color from the logo if required.

Another new feature is the ability to use placeholder images with color sampling of product variant images. In this respect, if a store owner’s product images are unsuitable for on-product previews, a PNG placeholder (with a transparent middle) can be added to the settings. This gives customers the opportunity to visualize how the customization will look in terms of color contrast.

Multiple embroidery machine file outputs

It is now possible to generate multiple embroidery machine file outputs, such as .dst, .tbf, .exp, .pes, .hus, in addition to the standard .EMB file formats. All these outputs can be sent to customers, opening up exciting new possibilities for embroidery designers wanting to sell customizable embroidery designs online.

Upcoming features

Monogramming and Print options are new features being added in the upcoming releases.

Sheer Custom is currently available for WordPress [WooCommerce], with a Shopify app launching later this year.
