The Wilcom design team had a task to create a quick and easy embroidery design that would impress. The challenge in the task was to use underutilized EmbroideryStudio e4.5 features.
They did not disappoint!
EmbroideryStudio e4.5 Designing is packed full of 100’s of features
to facilitate and speed up the digitizing process.
This striking black and white design is made up of a smaller design that is digitized once and quickly turned into a larger repeat pattern to fill your largest embroidery hoop.
The Mirror Merge tool, often used to create wreaths or decorative borders, is used to duplicate and transform the selected objects and merge them into a single design object.
Here they use the Mirror Merge Array tool to duplicate horizontally and vertically and copy simultaneously in both planes.
The Mirror Merge feature is part of the Auto Arrangement Element.
The Mirror Merge tool automatically creates one design
that is re-sequenced for optimal production.
The entire design is made up of a few repeating design elements!
TIP: Click the Mirror Merge Array tool and move your cursor to duplicate the design. Design outlines are created by the software and once in the correct position, press Enter to confirm. Set the number of columns and rows to fit your fabric, product or hoop.
Use Raised Satin for added height
The Wilcom team went one step further by selecting Raised Satin for extra definition. Raised Satin has made this design literally lift off the fabric. It’s not quite 3D embroidery, but it removes the hassle of handling foam.
With a single click, Raised Satin is selected. Simply choose how many repetitions in the Satin Count and remember the more layers selected, the higher the stitch count!
